Drew spent the week in Kentucky to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday with family. He and Matt drove home today, getting back in the early evening of his birthday. I took him out for some sushi at Oysy in downtown Chicago, thinking that the fish would be a light complement to all of the heavy holiday food. It was a fantastic dinner, and then we trekked to Daley Plaza to see the Chicago Christmas Tree (a composite of hundreds of trees, actually) as enjoy toasted nuts and chocolate covered fruit from the surrounding Christmaskindle market. Topping the list: mulled spiced wine coming in little souvenir cups. It was a perfect, beautiful evening. Happy birthday, sweets!
